MarkItDone — Terms of Service & Refund Policy

This page covers the terms for using MarkItDone and its Pro subscription, and the refund policy for Pro. See the separate Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

The service

MarkItDone is a Chrome extension that converts PDF and Word documents into Markdown. A free tier converts text PDFs and Word files entirely on your device. An optional Pro subscription ($7.99/month) unlocks OCR for scanned documents, including premium AI-OCR.

Accounts and subscriptions

No account or sign-up is required to use the free tier. Pro subscriptions are billed and managed by Gumroad, our merchant of record, under their own terms. You can view invoices, update payment details, or cancel at any time from the extension's manage-subscription link or directly with Gumroad.

Cancellation

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future billing; access continues until the end of the current billing period. There is no long-term commitment or early-termination fee.

Refunds

If you're unhappy with Pro within the first 14 days of a new subscription or renewal, contact us for a full refund — no detailed justification required. Refund requests after 14 days are considered case-by-case (for example, a clear billing error or a service outage that prevented use). To request a refund, email the address below with the email address used for checkout.

Acceptable use

Don't use MarkItDone to process content you don't have the right to process, attempt to circumvent the Pro paywall or usage limits, or attempt to disrupt or overload the service. We may suspend access for accounts that abuse the service (for example, automated bulk requests designed to exceed normal usage).

No warranty; limitation of liability

MarkItDone, including OCR and AI-OCR output, is provided "as is." Automated conversion and OCR can make mistakes, especially on degraded scans or unusual layouts — always review the output for anything important. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service; our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms or the refund policy from time to time; the date above will reflect the latest version. Continued use of Pro after a change means you accept the updated terms.
